No sound from the speakers...

This is kind of similar to the headphones prob, but I didn't want to mess his up. So my speakers don't get sound coming out of them. My mobo's driver has other stuff/drivers on it. One of them is something called "Sound Max". Do you think that's the sound driver, or some sound editing thing? Is that why I don't get sound? BTW it's onboard sound.
