Thumbs down No more CRT, I want LCD only

I bought a CRT 6 months ago but it is now in the repair centre.

I won't try to save money by buying CRT anymore. LCD must be on my desk this month.

CRT's have better colors and responstimes
I wouldn't go for LCD..they are terrible for gaming

Doesn't LCD has the same quality as CRT?

My friend told me that they are roughly the same in quality. If it is not the case, I would rather find a better brand CRT instead.

it's not the same, no
although the newest and most expensive LCD's get very close to CRT's they still can't beat the quality and speed of CRT monitors

good thing about LCD is they use less power

yes, buy a better brand CRT...samsung Syncmaster are good

LCD USED to have viewing problems, but not so much anymore. Get a quality LCD that supports a high native resolution and frequency, and yer all set. My home LCD is a 19" 1280x1024 native 85hz, and runs beautifully. I get a slight shadow effect in some games when running at certain over-sampling modes, but once you get used to it (because shadows aren't so clear in CRTs) you won't notice them.

I'll never touch an LCD again if I can help it.

Some of the $600 19" LCDs at Best Buy have 30ms response times, which is like total crap. CRTs are by far better if you get a good one.

There are some newer LCD's with 12ms responce times but you will pay for them.
