No Cpu Fan Voltage?? Fan Is Not Coming On??

Hi, my heatsink fan on the CPU is not turning on. All I can do is go into the bios. I checked the fan by replacing it with a good one with no avail.

Is the motherboard toast now?

What steps can I take to remedy the problem?

Try plugging the fan into anouther fan slot. You can get converters for the fans to plug directly into the PSU.

With out a cpu fan, your pc would overheat in seconds.

Ok I was able to get the CPU fan running by plugging it into the chipset fan connectors.. It was 3-pin as well so the CPU fan/heatsink plugged right in. But I'm wondering how safe that solution is going to be?? I checked the PC health status in the bios and the temp of the CPU is around 41 degree's F I believe.
