Default New sound card help

My friend just gave me his old sound card. All I had on my computer was onboard sound and it crashed. Well I put this sound card in and XP installed it and it said it was ready to use. I started listening to something and noticed it wasnt very loud. But the volume wouldn't turn up any higher. It did go lower and the mute button works. I just can't figure out what the problem is. Any help is appreciated!

Oh, that's my old computer with the headphones. I'm using my alternate computer. Maybe it is the speakers though. I think I will try them on my other computer and see what I get.

Okay, I just checked it out. It turns out that it is my speakers. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, I'll probably get some new ones. The sound card only has 3 channels.

u should sell that sound card... and buy u a 5.1 sound card!!

or get a big time 7.1 sound card and hook a HUGE TV 7.1 entertainment system to ur computer... lol, i dont even know if thats possible... i was jk, but that would be freakin TIGHT... expensive... but TIGHT!!!
