New problem now with my Creative Sound Card!!

After installing Windows XP Pro with service pack 1 and all updates from Microsoft I have no sound. I can't find anything conflicting with it and I even downloaded the drivers for Win XP off of Creative's website but that did nothing. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks!

PC specs:
AMD Athlon 1.3 MGz
256 MB Ram
Creative Sound Blaster 16 PCI
Windows XP with Service Pack 1 and all Microsoft updates installed

I'm very surprised your still using this old thing,but did you install the cd disk drivers,then do the update ? A Creative update is not a total install.Just an update.
Get a SB Live,very cheap but 32 bit.

could you specify more about your sound card? (like when you got it, the version)
it could be that XP does not support this sound card (although it is unlikely, it's possible)
if the sound card has been detected try new/different drivers for it
