the only main differences between xp pro and home is, pro is better if u do lans and you need administrator options (want people to not be able to install programs)

anyone? at all, hearing some things about proc not great cuz its only 512k?! i know its a bunch of trouble but could someone help me make sure im not screwing myself? :P thanks

get 4000+ (equalivent to FX-53)

or get Athlon Fx-53 straight away, both are on 1MB L2

Ok first off don't get that CPU, that's the older core, the newer core is much better- http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...103-498&depa=1 .

Also this MSI mobo- http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...130-468&depa=0
is better then that Asus mobo.

that would be great if i had another $450,
but the most i could prolly do is $1800,
above is $1620.50
is there an in between solution?

With the mobo I listed, you wont need an ethernet card. Look at my last post for a good mobo/cpu combo.

hmmm, ok just noticed this mobo has this: "Onboard LAN: Marvell 88E8001 GbE " is that ethernet? also are nforce ne good?
