new motherboard, seems dead HELP!

i just bought a Asus P4V8X-X mobo and connected itall up, when i turn the psu power on (from back of case) the led on the actually mobo lights up, but when i goto press the power on button at front of case nothing happens, the led on the mobo stays lit unil u turn the power off on the back of the case, i have a 1.7cpu init and 512mb ddr ram plase can someone help me.

i have plugd the power switch into the pins on the mobo that the manual tells me too (i think its the right one)

Yea if nothing's happening, like the swtich is dead or something, check to be positive that you connected the connectors to the mobo correctly, maybe even try turning it over to get the + with + and - with -
