Hello, My employer has an old machine that we use for file storage. It has fried its PSU and we're trying to replace it but there are no AT replacements available locally.

He purchased an ATX PSU from fry's along with an AT to ATX adapter. The problem is that this mobo is an ASUS model that has "software" switching/hibernation features and has an extra 3 pin plug which is not on this adapter. Apparently without this plug, the machine won't boot, and I don't know what needs to be done.

The adapter has 2 wires with solderless connectors in them, but I've nowhere to connect them.

Anyone know what needs to be done?

TIA,

Sam

My original post was incorrect. The cvomputer in question is an ACER Aspire 2800 series.

All I need to know is how to connect the PSU adapter. ACER says that the power supply is "proprietary", but I'm pretty sure this is just a regular run-of-the-mill AT power supply.

Anyone?

Sam

Nobody knows how to make an older AT mobo work with an ATX replacement?

BTT
