i just built a new system from scratch:
abit an8-v mobo
athlon 64 3000
1 gb corsair xms (512 x2)
480W thermaltake silent purepower psu
abit radeon x700 256 mb pcie x16
anyway, what happens when i push the power button is that the fans start spinning up as normal, but then it makes these obnoxious beepings then shuts down. there is a POST code display on the mobo, and it is 8. 7. which corresponds to "Check CPU Core Voltage." I have no idea what this means..does this mean I have to send my cpu back? any ideas?
