majistic 02-27-2005 10:16 PM

ecs isn't the best company, just the average joe kinda deal...i've used two ecs boards before..both for a 1.3 duron, never had a problem though....but for a tiny bit of extra cash, you can get a board twice as better.

just to confuse you some more....take a look at gigabyte as well...they are always "around" with technology too.

majistic 02-28-2005 12:12 AM

I like it.

I would recommend Gigabyte's motherboard if you don't want to overclock your CPU and seeking for stablize system.
If you want to overclock, then I would recommend DFI. MSI is also another choice, but you have to be fortunate enough to get the good one.
Asus..... not that good lately.

Also, what's the chipset for your Ram. I would strongly recommend using Samsung's or Hynix's chipset. I don't know why, but it seems that if you want a stable K8 system you have to get the Korean chipset.

My kingmax ddr ram is using Hynix D5

majistic 02-28-2005 06:25 PM

I dont want to overclock.

Joeisalsocool 02-28-2005 09:36 PM

I wouldn't mind one of those myself. When it comes down to it, if it works for you, then its perfect.

majistic 02-28-2005 09:43 PM

Thats true.

I dont know how much you guys know about mobo's. But for OC you really want Abit and DFI. Those are simply ideal for OC. But that does not categorize them as useless in other areas. MSI, arent really good for OC. But gigabyte and ECS shouldent even be considered for OC. ECS is probably the worse company to go with.

For mobo's you always want to get a Abit, DFI, or MSI. These mobo's offer everything, and they are flexible. Those companys sell the most mobo's, and all computer company's carry them. Gigabyte, is the kind of mobo you get if you cant afford anything. But for socket 939, their are low-cost Abit,DFI, and MSI mobo's. You really dont need anything but them.

Im just saying, Abit, DFI, and MSI are the best company's. So theirs no need to consider anything else.

Noice set up, i would agree with the other posters though, a diff mobo is needed, weather it be Asus or Abit, I'd like to think better of Abit, but i havent had much experience w/ 'em

majistic 02-28-2005 11:56 PM

I dont want to OC.

majistic 03-01-2005 12:01 AM

Ok I bought a new motherboard, the DFI LANPARTY NFII Ultra.

majistic 03-01-2005 12:02 AM
