So i'm throwing around the idea of blowing my wad on a nice new computer....

I think i'm gonna go

Thermaltake Xaser III (have a 500watt power will it fit this case?)
AMD Athlon 64 3800+ (pretty set on this chip)
Gigabyte GA-K8NS Pro Mobo
1GB Kingston PC3200 RAM (from my old comp)
ATI Radeon 9800 pro (maybe 6800Gt if prices are good at the time of purchase)
2 X 74GB Raptor 10,000 Hard Drives (how do i set these up ?)
TDK CD Burner (old comp)
DVD Burner (whats a GOOD CHEAP brand)
SoundBlaster Live Value (from my old comp, sound not so important to me)

Oh and i need a new monitor... I want something flat screen, doesnt have to be LCD, but 17"+ and at least the res. of my vid card max res. any recomendations? I would like to keep it under $300.

So are these parts good, compatable? any recommendations on similar parts around the same price that would be better for me. Any thing else you would add ?

I mainly use my comp to game.

you could set up those drives in raid, but raptors dont work to their full potential if you put all your files on them . . . get one raptor and another regular sata drive . . .

you can get a good crt 18 or 19" for about $300

Aslong as the PSU is ATX it will fit that case;)

IMO, you should perhaps drop one of those Raptors and put that money towards the GFX card:confused: Unless you really need all that space this would be a logical solution, because RAID really doesn't have any real world performance advantage over a single drive:confused:

There are plenty of nice 19" CRT flat screens for around $200;)
