New beginnings/problems

Hi ya. I'm Solufien. I came here looking for some advice. I'm a tech student right, and one of my assignments is hypotheticially build a US$3K computer. This includes 'hypothetically' choosing the parts and buying them. Every two weeks I'm going to be posting a thread, asking for a specific component, starting today. I don't really need specific items (although it would be nice), just the right direction towards the companies that are in your opion the best. To help you guys out, I am building a general purpose computer with an emphasis on hardcore gaming. Thanks.

3,000 USD is a SWEET budget! I wish I had that budget!

Here is a nice Antec case with a 430 watt PSU. Depending on what kind of PC you are trying to build (high performance, for example), it might be worth it to upgrade to a 500+ PSU.

Thats the case i have except mine has a window on the side. Good air flow, my case runs at about 25 C idle and 28-30 C playing games!
