Default network help

what hardware needs to be in the client pc to network to the host. when i run the setup wizard i'm told i'm missing hardware. please help. this is the last step in getting this pc up and going. getting on line. thanks. i followed the directions for set up step by step until the harware issue. the host pc is in good shape

All you should need is a Network Interface Card and the correct ethernet cable. If you are connect the client PC directly to the Host then you will need a Crossover cable. If you are using a piece of hardware then you need to use Straight Through.
How have you connected these PC and how are you trying to get online?

i'm already online with the host pc, win xp through roadrunner. i have a linksys wireless g broadband router but can't get the two pcs networked. i followed all the directions step by step but when i got to the client pc the set up wizard said i was missing hardware. i can't figure out what
