First couple things to check:

1) Do you have the right type of RAM

2) You bought 2 1 gig sticks? Can your CPU handle that much RAM?

it sounds like your system does not support that much RAM

As said above, it is probably only that your MoBo doesn't support 2GB, try only 1GB.

CS, he said when he tried only 1GB that his system gets to the XP loading screen and then reboots.

Did you happen to try it without your other RAM in there?

maybe you bought bad ram? or the speed is too fast for your mobo

three issues: Either incompatible RAM or one or both of the 1 gig sticks are toast or the mobo wont't support more thatn 1 gig as mentioned above (this being unlikely unless your mobo is stone age). Provide the mobo model and system specs for your puter pleeez.....were shootin' in the dark here!! The beeping = no memory.......your mobo is flatlinning!!! :)
