need help on s-video from desktop to tv via ati 9800 pro

ok so here is the deal, everyhting is plugged in and the desktop is on the tv, but when i go to play movies it shows media player with a black screen on the tv while my computer shows the movie, any ideas on how to fix this???

have the tv be full screen only. then that way, the tv will detect the video and also play it full screen, and then you can do other tasks on your monitor. i don't know how to do this on a ATI card, but I do on my 6800, i had the same problem and had to dig around some settings to find the full screen option.

I had the EXACT same problem. It is because it is set as a "clone" rather than a "secondary". Enter desktop properties>>Settings

Click on the display that says 2 on it. Then click "extend my desktop to this moniter". Also while your here you can choose where the TV and moniter are spatially by clicking and dragging them to position them.

Then click advanced>>displays and make sure that the TV is set to display 2 and the moniter as display 1.

That should fix it, let me know.
