need help pickin a gfx card

hey i need help pickin a gfx card cause i get the sims 2 for xmas and it runs like crap on my comp and i need a new card anyway i was lookin at this one its a SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON 9600XT Video Card, 256MB DDR i dunno if i can get anythin better than that i lookin for sumtin under 150 bucks if u guys know a beter one i can get around that price it would help me thx http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-102-467&depa=1

I would get a Rosewill 9600 for almost half the price. If your not a fulltime gamer and if your playing mostly Sims 2 then this card will probably exceed your expectations. This definately beats the card you named in most bang for buck.

yea if your just playing sims 2 and such other simple games a normal 9600 will do great, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to just a little higher and get 128mb 9600 pro for future games. also, what are the rest of your specs?? something else might be causing sims 2 to run bad (i.e. not enough ram, slow ram, slow CPU)

Yeah, that rosewill is the exact same video card I am going to get. Its a bit slower but seems hard to beat for the price.

the XT is faster than the non-XT card, but it will still do you fine

i gots a p4 2ghz 512 ram i gots a nividia geforce 4 mx 420 i wants a gfx cards thats good all around not jus for the sims 2 but for futrue games games liek half life 2 and doom 3

for HL2 and Doom 3 I would recommend anything from a 9800 Pro to a 6800 GT

the 6600 GT is prolly best for its price

hmmm..... $150 is a bit restricting for a video card if you're gonna play HL2 and Doom 3, but
This 9800 or this 9800 pro are good cards
