Default Need Help Choosing a GPU

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M GPU with 1.5GB GDDR5 Video Memory

or the

2GB GDDR3 Nvidia GeForce GT 555M GPU with Optimus Technology / Embedded Intel HD Graphics

I can get both of these in a VERY sweet Sager notebook but I would like to know which is best. The GT 555M has 2GB but the GTX 560M is GDDR5 which I assume is better...

The 560M is better in performance than the 560M. But the 555M is meant to save power. The embedded Intel graphics will be used when not running graphical intensive apps. Saving much power.

Edit: BTW, GDDR5 isn't always the better. It is the performance of the GPU itself, not the amount or speed of the RAM.

Ok. So would both of these have to power to play new video games such as Skyrim in HD with all the FX turned up high?

We don't yet know what the recommended specs for Skyrim will be, so we can't give you a definite answer. I can conjecture though that you'll be able to play it on medium at least.

The new intel base setups use hybrid gpus don't they? On chip for 2d/power savings and dedicated for 3d.
