Saitek make good, cheap gamepads:

I use a Saitek P2500 Rumble Gamepad (older model of the 2600) and it's excellent.

Gamepads are not a good choice for first person shooters. In fact, I find it downright awkward to play a FPS with a gamepad. Stick with the basics and use a keyboard and mouse like TRUE first person shooters were meant to be played!

Yeah for those games youll get pwned with a pad. Too fast paced and can die from a headshot. Not like Halo where you loose shields then die.

Logitech MX510 mouse looks awesome.

I would personally recommend a Microsoft wired keyboard.

Microsoft makes excellent keyboards, and they're not so freakin wide!
