Im building a pc for 1600 bucks. It needs to last 5 years and im a hard core gamer. Im going to be buying from newegg. Any suggestions?

could be true but w/e i need a pc that i wont have to ask my dad, wait ill be 18 or 19 i wont have to but for now i have to last a couple years, but besides that. before i can buy myself and get enough money i need a build right now to get.
In 5 years time the PC will be barely worth using for flash games on the internet, it is just the way technology is. If you continuly upgrade gradually then you can be on top of the games requirements.
This should fit nicely in that budget:
AMD 64 3500 venice
DFI lanparty NF4 SLI-D
1gb OCZ platinum rev. 2 (2X 512)
6800gt
Seagate/Western Digital hdd
dvd burner
nice case with good air flow
OCZ PSU
Zalman 7700cu
Artic Silver 5
Overclock this nice and high - while maintaining a low temperature, that will last you a couple of years. Then get a new graphics card with some money you save, save up again, get a new motherboard and CPU, then upgrade the rest as you get the money.

To change somethings on the computer if you are not into overclocking, I would replace that RAM with the same amount of budget/generic RAM. Also, lose the Zalman cooler, and use stock. With the money saved you should be able to get a 3700+ (San Diego).
