hey guys! help here..

i have two memory slots in my asrockK7S41GX mobo. i have also two memory modules. a 128MB 266 DDR and a 128MB 333 DDR.

the problem is my system only reads 96MB of each memory modules for a total of 192MB of memory. what do you think is the problem.I

heard that the reason why 64MB is missing from my memory is that i have no video cards installed (i am using a built-in video card).is that true?

thanks!

i don't think it's reading 96 of each....it's more likely reading 128 and 64. do you have another stick of ram to test with?

Yes, as already mentioned, most integrated graphics subsystems nowadays do not have any frame buffer memory of their own, thus for the most part, it must be borrowed from your main system memory. It can either be static or dynamically allocated (e.g. a chip uses only 4 MB of memory while in "2D" mode, whereas it borrows as much as 11 when playing a game).
