Default My current comp spec, What do I need to upgrade?

Here are my current comp spec

MSI i865PE MAX 800Mhz Mainboard
Pentium-4 2.8 Ghz 128MB DDR 8X Graphic Card
Dual Kit 256MB *DRR-RAM (Major)
Maxtor 80GB 7200PRM Hard Drive

I don't wanna spend over $600 to upgrade the computer. Around 300-500 will be fine. Any suggestions?

Thanks alot

Sadly, I got nVidia FX5200 128MB.
I had just found out that I got ripped fomr the computer guy after 6 months. I'm trying to rebuild my computer. If I need to get ram, cpu, mobo upgraded.... would it be better to build a new computer possibly?

I'm an advanced graphic artist. I use programs like 3ds max studio, maya 6, lightwave 3D. Would that be equalivent to gaming?

Thanks for the help guys.

Maybe you should get a new CPU. The 2.8's are sadly getting a little outdated.

Ugh, Alright.
Can someone please post a list of hardwares I need to get to build my computer at perspective of an advanced graphic artist?

Including
- decent gfx card
- high capacity of hard drive

Looking to spend about 1.8-2.2k

Help will be appreciated.
Thanks for helping out guys.

the comp in my sig is pretty bad ***, it cost me 2 grand even, with the extra 200, you could get a 6800GT, or even an Ultra. The harddrive is 250gig, which is more than enough for me, one gig DDR 3200, which is great, the 3.2ghz P4 can be easily overclocked to 3.51 or higher without breaking a sweat.
