My computer sounds like it could explode!

Every once and awhile my computer sounds like it is about to explode....

I know it is the fan going hard but i can't tell if it is dust particles or a cable hiting the fan of either the CPU (doubt that) or the Video Card (think so). I checked my case and no cables come near the fans and the case is relatively dust free...

It all stops after i shut down the computer for a minute or so... Only seems to occuring during games (therefore my dear watson, it must be the video card!)

Any ideas?

well my video card slot cooler craped out after a few months and it made the same sounds. I took it out and couldn't figure out what was wrong with it even after taking it apart. I just got a new one.
