Default Multi-Monitor problem

I have a widescreen laptop (max res:1680x1050), and I got a second monitor (max res: 1600x1200). However, when I hook up my second monitor, the max resolution I can set it to is 1280x1024. I can only set the second monitor at a widescreen resolution, and I was wondering if there was any way to change the resolution to a normal size (1600x1200) and not widescreen. Thank you

Make sure your latest video drivers are installed.

Right click the desktop>click properties>click settings

There wil be 2 black rectangles, one with a '1' and one with a '2'. Click on '1' and change the resolution accordingly, and do the same for '2'.
