It is what we have been talking about but its pretty standard as far as optical mouse mats go. It will improve the mouse's accuracy but to tell the truth you really won't notice a diffrence with a better one unless your a hardcore gamer like me.
Have another look round though before you make your choice as you might find something better for around the same price. If not that will do fine and if your looking to buy the MX1000 you won't hardly notice a difference as its a laser mouse and is already 20x the accuracy as an optical mouse anyway.
