mouse and keyboard not working

On my sisters computer when you plug any mouse and keyboard kn they just dont work and none of the lights come on, I've tried normal and usb mice and keyboards and none of it works.

have you tried using an alternative usb source, like a usb PCI card?

no I havn't, that would only fix the mouse though if it did work

does anyone know what might be causing this to happen?

Have you tried other PS2 keyboards?

Looks like the keyboard is just dead.

USB keyboards don't work with my MSI mobo so maybe try PS2 like talldude suggested. MSI have a terrible USB controller.

Try a seperate keyboard all together. You must have another one kicking around, you can buy them for $5.

yea, i make sure to have 2 or more spare kb's, a few mice (serial, usb, ps2), couple monitors, usb hubs, etc...for these type of problems when i fix pc's for people.

PS: talldude, you need to clean your pm box dude...
