Motherboards keep failing? - refuses to post and no video

There's no speaker in the system so I don't think it should beep - it doesn't anyway. All the power lights come on and all the fans spin. The hard drive (as far as I can tell) does nothing. Absolutely nothing comes up on the screen - the power light on the monitor flashes as though it's in standby. I don't think the keyboard lights come on either but I gave up connecting that a long time ago!

Can I suggest you plug the keyboard in because unless the bios is set to ignore keyboard errors, it will be trying to initialise it during post & causing an error.

I'm not suggesting that this is the reason you are having problems as even with no keyboard, you should still get a display but it will stop it from adding to the problem.

Is there any way you can get hold of a system speaker & attach it? If it gives you a beep code, it would make it far easier to diagnose the problem.
