Motherboard & FX5900 ultra!

I have this motherboard called K7S5A and it have SiS 735 chipset which supports a 4X AGP slot for highly graphics display. and i just got GeForce FX 5900 Ultra 256Mg and its says 8x on it. so can i put this video card in my motherboard and if i will whats gonna happen??????????? or should i buy a new mother???

Relax, the card should work fine, as long as there are no incompatibilities with the motherboard (check ECS' site).

It'll just run in AGP 4x mode instead of 8x.

Exactly what Martin said! You won't get the full 100% quality of what the video card was made to be, but it should work fine!

BUT that doesnt mean you can put a 4x card in an 8x slot, 8x cards run at .5v (something really small, under 1v) and 4x cards run at 1.5v, you will fry your 8x slot if you put a 4x only card in it (this is for 4x cards ONLY and 8x slots ONLY), but what you are doing is fine
