Motherboard/CPU question

If I have an old Dell Dimension XPS P133c tower system can I replace the motherboard and CPU? If so how would I know what is compatible? Thanks.

its better to buy a new computer than replace motherboard/ CPU. you will run into less compatabilty issues andbe more satisfied. i highly recommend it

I agree with above,well first of all I think dells are proprietized machines, meaning they give you a restore disk, in changing mainboard cpu, you have now changed there config files,,thus creating more problems, if your going to change mainboard & cpu,,I would suggest a new hard drive,, get os xp etc and do a clean install,,might save yourself some headaches..there restore disks are set up to there hardware specs,,need help doing anything let us know, we will help you.

Yep...when I see these commercials for companies like Dell...saying you can get what you want in a PC, etc., it makes me cringe. I wish they would really tell people what they are selling.
