From what I found on wikipedia about it, it sounds perfectly fine...

i have a VIA chipset got awesome reviews, works well. no problems. if your going to do overclocking, i have heard via isnt as good, but i really think it depends on the mobo manufacturer.

from the shopping I've been doing, I also couldn't help but notice the PCIe counterparts being substantially cheaper. I'm agreeing with doom and flanker.
