What is a good AFFORDABLE brand/make of motherboard for gaming? I may be using an AMD Athlon XP 3000+ 200 mhz (400 ddr) 512 L2 cache processor. I'd like to be able to add better components in the future, so I can play high-end games, but that's kind of a no-brainer.

athlon xp??? why don't you just go with a athlon 64 3000+ or a 3200+ it's not much of a difference in price. the athlon 64 3200+ is like 20 bucks more expensive then the xp so it'll be better for the long run.

If you already have the cpu and are just looking for a mobo, then i guess you should go with the Abit NF7-S

remember, this is only for the xp series.

if you're gonna get the athlon 64 go for a 939 pin cpu and go with an MSI mobo or a Gigabyte one.

Only go for one of the major brands......it is not worth buying a cheap crappy thing if it is not good and going to blow up in your face.
