Default More Then One Moniter

i just bought a radeaon 9800 pro and i have 2 moniters hooked up to it. what do i do so that i can use both of them, like one big desktop. right now all the 2nd one is doing is showing the same thing as the first one

You need to look at your video card settings. Right now it sounds like you have it on "clone" where you need to look for a setting called "span" or "extend my desktop onto second monitor"

This is in the display properties for the monitors.

Use the catalyst control center to make any fine-tuned adjustments to the display.

ok now that i have the other desktop showing only my backround how do i get the rest of the stuff and my mouse over to it

well, all it will show is backround unless you have something that would normally not fit in 1 screen, for instance, your toolbar i think should extend to 2nd monitor, and mouse should be able to cross onto it and you should also be able to drag stuff onto it... i think you would have to change the ratio/resolution to a widescreen type setup if you wanted it to act like one big screen
