Monitor sometimes shuts off

I cleaned my computer the other day and before the cleaning everything was fine. Im not sure if I knocked something loose but everyone once in a while I will lose signal to the monitor and have to hard boot. I boot back up and everything seems to be ok. Could I maybe have tapped the video card and made it come out of the socket a little? I have a 2.4GHz processor, I run a 6800GT video card. My computer has a lot of space inside so I dont feel its overheating. I can connect online and stuff fine its just my monitor light turns orange from green and I lose picture. My monitor is a View Sonic UltraBrite A90f+. Any input or thoughts would be appreciated...thanks

Oh yeah and one time a bunch of random letters came up on the screen when I rebooted, its only done it twice.

Anyone? Am I in the wrong topics, or does anyone not have any feedback?

Have you tried another video card?

Is your VGA or DVI cord plugged in securely? That could be the problem.

Also check "Power Saver" setting in the Screen Saver dialog box.
