Monitor(s) for gaming...

Thanks for all the input, guys. I'm trying to decide between a very good flat CRT I've found that's $180 and an LCD. Later tonight I'm borrowing my friend's Sceptre X9 to see how it works with my computer.

Just one more question. For LCDs, what kind of specs should I look for, being a a gamer and all? As in...

what contrast ratio?
what response time? is 12ms good?
what does the dot pitch mean and what should I look for?
what refresh rates should I look for?

Thanks!

They have been discontinued, but if you can find one, the LaCie electron19blueIV is the absolute end all of 19 inch CRT monitors for gaming. I have one. It simply owns. It is a perfectly flat diamondtron tube, with a .24mm dot pitch (the best dot pitch for a 19" CRT), and it supports 1280x1024 @ 100Hz, and 1600x1200 @ 85Hz, both of which are flicker free. It also has two superbright modes, which I LOVE for movies and gaming, in fact I have gotten so used to them that I don't like gaming without it.

I have a DiamondTron tube, too. IIyama VisionMaster Pro 17". It pwns.

For LCD: smaller pixel pitch is better. Higher contrast ratio is better. Lower response time is better. I'm sure sombody else can recommend a good LCD, but it will be more expensive.
