Monitor Problem

ummmm probably a stupid question but how many pins should my monitor cable have??
mine has 13, although there are 2 more holes, it doesn't look like they've snapped off

Your monitor conncetor should probably look like this, unless you have a DVI monitor.

it's like that except it's missing the bottom right pin too, is this a
problem?!?

I'm quite certain that VGA connectors should have at least 12 pins, some have more, some don't. The following should help you out.
