monitor problem

hi,

can someone please help. here is my problem:

when i turn my PC on, windows loads until i reach the login screen which flashes for 1 sec. then the screen goes black.

i have opened the monitor and replaced 5 bulging capacitors, but this has not helped.

i cannot access safe mode for some unknown reason.

if the problem is with windows (vista), what should i do?

Are you able to test the system with another monitor, or even a TV?
