Monitor not coming out off stand by

Hi,

I've just installed a new hard drive into my computer however have damaged ethier the motherboard or the graphics card (i think). when switching the computer back on my monitor does not come out off standby.

i have tested the system on another monitor and the same problem occurs. i have also taken the new hard drive out and returned the system to how it was previously. i've also done all the obvious stuff eg. checking cables, turn the monitor and computer in different sequence.

i know there are many forums with this kind of post however, i do not have a spare motherboard or graphics card to test (as i think this is were the problem probobly lies).

Also when the computer ius switched on there is no beep however all fans (inc. processor fan) and hard disks spin.

Any help would be much appreacheated,

Take out memory and clean it and put it back in
