Monitor making noise

i started noticing this noise coming from the back of my monitor ( which is a hp 17" crt). its a fairly old monitor, nothing special tho. But the noise wont be there all the time, it just comes every now and then and then sometimes will go off. its kind of like a high pitched buzzing noise, but it isnt extremely loud, just gets kinda annoying. anyone have any idea what it could be?

Well, it could be harmless but then again it could be dangerous.

I would get a new monitor.
