Monitor Help

I was just on my computer and all of a sudden the screen resolution started to stretch, so that i couldnt even read the time on the bottm right or the start menu.
I changed my settings to 1024 x 768 and that works ok..but anything larger than that is way too stretched...bigger i mean screen wise..800x600..ect

Is this a driver issue or is my monitor just gonna crap out soon?

do you mean off the screen, so you have to scroll to see the rest of the screen? my friend had that problem once, we changed the refresh rate and it fixed.
