OK here we go i have ATI 9700 AIW pro, 1G ddr 3200 333MHz, 2.53 Ghz 533 fsb, on a Intell 845 mobo. would i get better performance by upgrading to the p4p800-se Asus board for the 8x agp vs the 4x im running now? Games that im playing HL2 , CS:source, COD:United Offensive and UT 2004

You would see an increase in perforemace, but the jump from 4x to 8x is not that great. If you are looking to upgrade, how much do you have to work wiht? If you were to upgrade both your cpu and mb you would see a larger increase in performace.

upgrade to 8X AGP only increase graphic performance around 20~30%.
more accurate u can try benchmark it.
by the way, is it pc3200 is running at 400mhz?

well you wont get a double performance out of 8X AGP. but in system performance, only processor and RAM doesnt plays vital roles, as data has to pass through motherboard obviously, so mobo chipset as well makes difference, and 865 chipset is very powerful chipset.

big jump right??
