Default mkv format

I dont know if this belonged in the hardware section but im giving it a shot. Ok I recently downloaded a .MKV file. what plays it? I tried Winamp and DivX but none worked plz help

This belongs in the Software forum "Operating Systems and Software".

As for *.MKV i've never heard of it, try searching google.

Storm Codec has basically every codec known to man in it...a lot of times MKV files have dual audio (of course in terms of things like animes) so the program will let you choose between listening to it in japanese or english and hiding subtitles...either way it's a great pack of codecs...after installing it, I've never come across something it can't play
