Hi all.

Busy building my new system and I'm at the stage where I'm connecting the front header panel.

All is well but there is no speaker wire ( orange & black )
I don't think my case has got one ( cooler master stacker )

I've got the same motherboard and case as used in this article.

http://www.hardwarezone.com/guides/amd-socket939/index.php?pg=20

You can see at the bottom of the page next to the HDD Led and Reset SW the speaker conector.
Mine does not have it.

Should I just skip this

As far as I know this is just for the motherboard beeps. Is this correct ?

Thanks

Yeah, the little pin that has a spot for 4 little pins but really only has 2 wires going to it that says SPEAKERS like you were referring to does exactly like you said, just makes the initial beep when you start up. When theres problems though with your motherboard it gives you sequential beeps and whatnot to give you an idea of what the problem could be. So its kind of up to you really, but no its not deathly needed

Yeah, the only time you really need it is to give you information about something that might be messed up with its beeping combinations. Other than that its just kind of annoying, so no huge loss.

Can I buy these small speaker seperately and just fix one in the case myself ?
will it have the same sort of speaker connection ( 4 pin with only 2 wires - orange and black ) ?
