Wel its always a good idea to check. So your system dont crash while your in the middle of something important.

ECC memory isn't really needed unless you're running a server. Memtest, or other memory testing programs, are what I believe dragoon was referring to.

It actually runs slower so most gaming machines do NOT use ECC RAM.
