which memory?

im in the process of building my first pc i have a general idea about stuff except memory . Which memory type would u guys recommend for the asus a8v deluxe via k8t800 pro,paired with a amd 64 bit 3200 winchester 939. i know the mobo is dual stick compatible, but what is the difference between 1 gb and two 512`s plus what difference is there between ` value memory and premium memory. im gonna use it mainly for gaming thanks in advance

Two 512's will have DOUBBLE the memory bandwidth of a single gig stick.

2x 512meg sticks of PC2100 ram would outpeform a single stick of 1 gig PC3200

actually it wouldn't because it's not REALLY double the bandwidth (as it claims), it's only about a 5% increase in bandwidth
