Media Disconnected

sorry if this is in the worng thread but i need an answer quickly due to business. i cannot connect to the internet on my pc. i have a wireless adaptor usb.. it shows the strength is at 100 percent..and it looks like the internet is working,but its not. it says in ipconfig...media state- media disconnected. i am runnin windows xp home. thanks.

hmm, is the internet being accessed on other machines? like the wired ones or other wireless cards?

yes, the internet is working fine on my laptop using a wireless card

could my pc possibly have a virus from blocking me from connecting to anything?
