7900 GT spec u posted above is wrong, here are the real spec 24 pipelines,
650MHz core,
1400MHz memory speed and the memory is 512MB (not 256MB)

and i don't think that there are going be a new card called 7200 because 7300 is already available and it's codename is G72
i think u mean 7300 by 7200

any reports on how the 7800gs is going?

It's out, and an AGP only card. Costs 20-30 bucks more than the 7800GT and has 16 pipes instead of 20. Not a great deal, but not too bad either for the AGP vintage boys.. :)

Nice to know, but I'm keeping my 7800GT till the G80 cores, you can't stay on top forever.

I read somewhere, no I don't have a link, that the 7900 will be 'competatively priced to the X1900 series.' They probably will be relatively reasonable as far as video cards go.

The XFX (yeah i know it's XFX) has 24 pipes and is clocked at 580/1730 (factory oc'ed) so i would rather get the 7800GTX 512mb instead of the 7900GT 512mb, unless it's priced about 100$ less.

7900GT will be roughly on par with the 7800GTX 512MB (not 256MB) Definately wait for it. It should be cheaper too. I just wonder if the G80 series will be out in time for UT2007. I sure hope so.
