I was looking around for info on the new intel cores and found some good info on the new Nvidia and ATI cores.
it seems that march is going to be a huge month for nvidia with the launch of the 7900GTX(G71 core) whcich has 32 pixel pipes and is expected to be clocked at 700/1800 and is expected to launch on march 9th. the 7600(G73 core) Which is supposted to lauch 2 cards, the 7600GT with 12 pixel pipes and clocked at 500/1000, and the 7600GS which has 8 pixel pipes and is clocked at 500/1000. The 7200(G72 core) is a low end card with DDR2 memory, 4 pixel shaders, 64-bit, and clocked at 450/525.And the 7900GT(G71 core) will be pretty much a remake of the 7800GTX with 24 pixel pipes, and 256mb GDDR3 1.2ghz memory. All of the 7600, 7200, and 7900GT card are expected to launch on march 20th.
ATI is only releasing 1 card but is also releasing a new laptop graphics card and a new north bridge that makes crossfire better.. the card that ATI is releasing is the X1800GTO(R580 same core as X1900 series) will be a lesser version of the X1900 series and is expected to have a retail price of 279$ at the launch in early march. the laptop graphics is the Radeon mobility X1800XT(M58 core) and is clocked at 446/495 and expected to launch in february. The new north bridge that ATI is releasing is the Radeon Xpress 3200 Crossfire(RD580) which has 44 PCI express lines from just the north bridge (nvidia uses 2 chips to achive the same, 16 from the north bridge and 16 from the south bridge) another advantage for the Xpress 3200 is that the HTT can be increased much more than 1ghz which is a first for an AMD chipset.
here's a summary off all the new cards.
GeForce 7900 GTX 512MB - 32 pixel pipelines 700/1800
GeForce 7900 GT 256MB - 24 pixel pipelines 1.2ghz memory
GeForce 7600 GT - 12 pixel pipelines, 500/1000
GeForce 7600 GS - 8 pixel pipelines, 500/1000
GeForce 7200 ?? - 4 pixel shaders, 450/525
Radeon X1800GTO - similar to the X1900 series
Mobility Radeon X1800XT - ?? pixel pipes, 446/495
i cant wait to see what comes of these cards and the new north bridge from ATI but it looks like march is gonna kick some serious @$$.
