You'll see an example of a really smokin PC built using specs from the hottest gameing PC manufacturer on the market right now, and you can see how much cheaper it is to build it yourself.

However, the comment about research, research, research if very accurate.. All of the components listed in that other thread are high quality and from well respected manufacturers. It's pretty obvious to me that the Alienware guys did thier homework.

i reckon making your own PC is cheaper, and because you make t you know how to fix it if something goes wrong, and you can make it with parts of YOUR choice

yeah but im too lazy, lol anyways i want a kool alien case, and warranties, its only 600 bucks, im rich:-) wel not really but i canvafford it

well you'd have to look at what you've got and try and find a M/B with the right capacity from anywhere, the internet is a good place because it's all up to date and a lot of the time you could search with automatic preferences

http://www.scorptec.com.au is a good place (an Australian site)

and I'm told http://www.newegg.com is good
