Default Mac, PC power failure

Will Mac systems without any electric protection gear, in any way, be affected if there is a power failure like PCs?

i would think so. in an event of a large power surge any hardware without some kind of protection would be damged yes. it would not matter who makes the hardware. macs are as prone to physical damge as much as a normal pc would.
