I just recently purchased a barebones system, with a M266A motherboard. I am running win 2000 I installed all the drivers from a cd that came with the system. Now I decided I want to install some of my games so I figure I should install my gamepad first. I've got 2 different ones a gravis and a sidewinder. When I go to control panel to activate, I keep getting a message that the controller is not connected. The M266A has on board gameport, so I install my old game controller card and install drivers, and again same message....not connected. Is this a hardware problem, or is it operator error.......please help...

Check that the game port is enabled in the bios under peripheral setup, if it already is try swapping from 200h to 208h. Check if using newer drivers help.

Thanks a million, that 208h did the trick. Sure wish you could give me some insight on what I just did.
