Default LPT to LPT interface

At my office we just set up an old machine that illustrates the data it collects by printing it out. It would be much easier for us to put it into Excel and manipulate it there. The only connection obviously is an LPT. I know you can interface two computers through LPT ports, is it possible to with this set-up. The printer is an OmniPrint 426 if that helps. Any ideas appreciated, thanks.
